I must be getting used to reading teen fiction again because they are seeming less annoying lately. ha ha! This one ended up on my reading list due to the buying power of Aunt Colleen. ;) The eBook was only $2 and she bought it for us before I could. This one comes with the cliche teen scenario: teen girl is new in town and is a social outcast. The hot guy in town falls for her and she doesn't know why because she is obviously horrendous and damaged. There also seems to be a battle for her with another guy at school. Ugh! Overall, it wasn't too bad. After a while you just have to take it for what it is, a book made for teenagers.
Zara moves to Maine to live with her grandmother after her step dad dies. She is battling the loss of her dad and dealing with the feelings of abandonment from her mother sending her away. Things take a turn for weird when a mysterious man starts popping up. She's seen him before at her home in Charleston, the day her dad died. It turns out this guy is a pixie king in need of a queen. Until that need is met, people will die, and it looks like she's got his sights set on Zara.
