Lucinda is a 17 year old girl who is sent to a reform school after her former love interest dies a mysterious death. This isn't her only problem. Her whole life, she has been plagued by dark, scary shadows. At the reform school she can't help but feel herself drawn to a boy named Daniel who seems determined to stay away from her. In spite of Daniel's hot and cold attitude toward her and the obvious interest from another boy named Cam, Luce still finds herself fawning over Daniel. As this is going on, the shadows seem to be growing stronger.
Daniel is a fallen angel, doomed to love the same girl only to have her die and be reincarnated every 17 years. No matter how he tries to avoid her, history repeats itself over and over again. This time with Luce, things are different.
This is a bizarre love story with more than just the lives of love sick teenagers at stake. Somehow the fate of the world is tied into the whims of a 17 year old girl who is in love with a fallen angel. I actually enjoyed this book even though most teen novels these days make me gag. The ending made me scratch my head and think "What?!!", so of course I'll have to read the sequel!
