Chris was flipping through the channels the other day and stumbled across this show. It was at the end during the "ring" ceremony. My first impression was that the poor guy came on the show and was surprised by overweight girls. You know, there are a few like this like the girl who unknowing has all nerdy guys or the guy ends up with older women. Turns out, he likes bigger women cause he's bigger himself. As I was watching the show I was amazed that they not only listed these girls names but weight and height! Can you imagine?! I would be absolutely horrified! It's one thing to be on a show about weight loss and have them broadcast it and another thing to be on a dating show and have your weight flash next to your face. Even more cheesy was the fact that each person that survived elimination was giving a "promise ring" which was placed on their finger by the guy. Wow?! Who comes up with this stuff? The sad thing is that they girls that are rejected are shown balling their eyes out saying that this was their one chance at love since they're overweight! This show could have taken another direction completely but it's pretty much exploiting people who are overweight. They should have put people who were comfortable with themselves and confident in order to portray a positive message. Does anyone else agree?
