Another teen book. I chose it because I was trying to find an audio book on the library website and there wasn't much of a selection. I wasn't very impressed and thought it was a little mature for teen readers.
The book follows 17 year old Marcus who is a very smart computer genius. He and his friends get detained by the Department of Homeland Security right after a terrorist attack and because of his high tech gadgets and background, are considered suspects. They are held in a prison and questioned for a few weeks and when they were finally released, were told never to tell anyone where they were and what happened. One of his friends wasn't released with them and they didn't know what happened to him. Marcus decides that he is going to wage a war on the DHS for illegally detaining him and his friends and for his friend that is still missing and presumed dead by his family and friends. The theme of the book is basically about how the Government takes away our freedoms in the name of fighting terrorism but it doesn't catch or stop terrorist attacks. Heavy topic for the average teen. There was a lot of talk about the Constitution, voting, and technology.
