I decided to read this book because it was recommended for people who liked Hunger Games and Mazerunner. It was good but didn't knock my socks off. It was published in the UK a while ago and is now making it's way to the US.
The book is set in a future society where the King of the "Realms" decided that everyone should go back to a simpler time before a lot of technology. Time was taken back to late medieval times and technology and even some education was banned. When this happened, a high tech prison was created named Incarceron. They put all the criminals and other undesirable people inside saying they were creating a Utopia for them. Once the doors were sealed, nobody could get in or out and nobody knew the location except the Warden. The book follows Claudia who is the Warden's daughter. She has an arranged marriage with the Prince of the Realm Caspar who is a complete idiot. For years she has been trying to find the location of Incarceron and it's secrets with no luck. It also follows a boy Finn who is inside Incarceron but believes he was once from outside. He has no memory from before but has "visions". He and his friends try to find the exit to Incarceron and follow a legend about the only person ever to escape. Later Claudia and Finn learn that they are connected and she tries to help him escape so that she can escape her arranged marriage.
