This book is the second book in the Mistborn series. Like most books within a series, it has some repetition as it reminds the reader which special powers each character has and how they use it. It also repeats some of the events from the first book. I find this annoying but it happens in most books since the reader might have forgotten what happened depending on how much time has passed between reading books. Anyways, the second book follows the same cast of characters. I'm hesitant to say much so I don't give anything away. In the first book it mentions that The Lord Ruler defeated a thing called "The Deepness", saving the world by going to The Well of Ascension. The Deepness was assumed to be some kind of monster that he defeated by getting power from the well. In this book the main character Vin is convinced that The Deepness is the mists that come out at night making it very difficult to see. The mists start to appear during the day and she also thinks that she sees the image of a person in the mists. She comes to believe that she must find The Well of Ascension since it seems that The Deepness has returned. While all this is going on, the city her and her friends control is under siege. This book kind of ends in a cliff hanger making you very eager to continue the series.
