City of Bones

City of Bones, by Cassandra Clare
I just finished this book today.  It's pretty good.  It's the first book in the Mortal Instruments series.  It's considered teen fiction.  It's about a girl named Clary who witnesses 3 other teenagers murder someone whose body disappears into thin air.  She is confused when this happens and then even more confused when she realizes that nobody else is able to see the group.  Later Clary's mother disappears and Clary is attacked by some kind of monster.  She runs into the trio later and they explain to her that they are called Shadowhunters, demon killers.  They try to figure out how Clary is able to see them, since Mundanes (humans) are not supposed to be able to see Shadowhunters and demons.  They end up working together to try and figure out who kidnapped Clary's mother and the secret to Clary's past which is a mystery to her.  This book has vampires, demons, and warewolves.  The cover of the book says that the book is sexy, ha ha.  There isn't anything in the book, really.  It's pretty clean, there's just one kiss.  I would recommend this book.  It's pretty good and the sequel came out last month so I'll be reading that one next.  I'm still trying to figure out why the book is called City of Bones since the actual City of Bones in the book plays a small part in the story, but oh well.  It was probably just to set a theme since the sequel is called City of Ashes.
