Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls

Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls: Book Cover
Jeanette Walls is the author of The Glass Castle, which I loved. When this book came out I was a little confused at why it would be called "a true life novel". The book is about Jeannette's grandmother, Lily Casey, and is written as a memoir from her perspective. Jeannette says at the end of the book that she took stories that her mother told her growing up and filled in some of the details to create the book, because of this, she didn't feel right calling it a biography. The book was good but didn't knock my socks off like The Glass Castle did. There are still some pretty incredible tales and I couldn't help but admire Lily Casey's courage and tenacity.
