This book is told from Enzo's perspective as he recalls his life with his owner Denny, a talented and struggling race car driver. Enzo is a very smart and reflective dog who compares the trials of his family to race car driving. Enzo stands by Denny's side after the death of his wife and losing custody of his daughter. It made me laugh and it definitely made me cry. Through Enzo, you learn a lot about love, loyalty, and the human experience. You don't have to be a dog lover to enjoy this book but it definitely hits a soft spot if you are.
